At Seed Co, our mandate is to develop crop varieties that are well-suited to evolving and often unpredictable climatic conditions. We are committed to providing farmers with climate-smart solutions that enhance productivity and resilience.

Our newly released varieties demonstrate exceptional adaptability:

Early and very early maturing varieties – These varieties are designed to reduce the days to maturity, allowing crops to reach harvest before mid-season dry spells and enabling late-season establishment. This category includes ultra-early maturing varieties SC 301 and SC 303, as well as very early maturing varieties SC 419, SC 437, and the newly introduced SC 449, which require 90 to 120 days to reach maturity. By shortening the growth period, these varieties optimize biomass accumulation and yield under time-constrained conditions.

Drought-tolerant varieties – These varieties are able to withstand extended periods of moisture stress, including mid-season dry spells. This resilience is available in varieties such as SC 555, SC 657, SC 659, SC 719, and SC 727, providing farmers with reliable performance under challenging environmental conditions.

Specialty crop varieties – Seed Co also offers crops with specific market and nutritional benefits, such as the wheat variety SC W9104, known for producing high-quality white flour, and the new red sorghum variety SC XH102, which provides a nutritious and resilient option for sorghum production.

The breeding, delivery, and adoption of new maize, wheat, and sorghum varieties at Seed Co is an ongoing process. Our goal is to make innovative seed technologies accessible to farmers, ensuring their crops thrive even under adverse weather conditions while meeting both productivity and market demands.
