Group Operations Director, Seed Co Group

Clive Chikomborero Mugadza is a seasoned agribusiness executive who currently serves as the Group Operations Director at Seed Co, a role in which he oversees the organisation’s operations across East Africa, including Tanzania, Kenya, and the East African Lakes region, while also providing strategic leadership to the Group’s vegetable-seeds business and the company’s developing markets portfolio across Africa.

He joined Seed Co in 2011 as Group Marketing Manager and quickly distinguished himself through strong commercial and operational leadership, eventually rising to Regional Managing Director for East Africa and Managing Director of Seed Co Tanzania, where he drove growth, strengthened market positioning, and expanded the company’s footprint in competitive regional seed markets.

His 2024 elevation to Group Operations Director reflects a track record of delivering results as well as his ability to manage complex multi-country operations, harmonise processes, and support Seed Co’s ambition to remain Africa’s leading seed company. Clive holds a Bachelor of Technology Management Honours degree and has further enhanced his strategic and leadership capabilities through advanced executive studies, including participation in a Senior Executive Leadership Programme at Harvard Business School. Beyond Seed Co, he contributes to the development of the continent’s seed industry through his role as a board member of the African Seed Trade Association (AFSTA), reinforcing his commitment to advancing seed trade, industry standards, and agricultural transformation across Africa.
